Getting Started
If you are interested in my editing your manuscript, here are some starting points:
In order to find out whether I am the right editor for your book, I need to read a sample chapter or two from your manuscript. If you're not sure how much to send because your chapters are odd sizes, you can use 10,000 words as a rough benchmark. I charge a non-refundable ten dollar (US$10) reading fee, payable via PayPal. Send me an email at introducing yourself, with the chapters as Microsoft Word or OpenOffice attachments.
If we do turn out to be right for one another, I will ask you to sign a very simple editing contract, which says: I promise to keep your manuscript confidential; either of us can end the working relationship at any time as long as my fees are paid; you intend to make the changes I suggest to your manuscript; you will pay my fees timely. In the event that I add more to the manuscript than you, a separate ghostwriting contract must be negotiated.
On this basis, we can start our working relationship, and explore how to make your manuscript better.
